A Different Kind Of Resolution

Something huge is about to happen. Right now it's like I can hear the subtle rumblings of an oncoming stampede that's just started on the other side of the plain, or maybe it's the distant earthquake in the sea that has created a tsunami that's headed to the beach outside of your window. You brace yourself and start nailing things down, collecting what's valuable and prepare to be swept away. But this is a good thing. This stampede, this magnificent wave, this revival, is going to be a show of God's power. My heart flutters in anticipation. Since July He's been saying "Get ready...it's gonna be big. Get ready now. Hurry up, it's gonna come fast and hard. Start preparing for my glory. You won't be able to handle it so start now." And boy am I excited.

He's preparing for His bride. He is offering her fine linens, and bathing her in perfume. The King is sending out the invitations (He's already sent out the save the dates). Soon He'll start counting the RSVP's. The Groom is patting His brow and checking His watch. His stomach fills with butterflies in anticipation of the sight of His glorious lover, clothed in the purity of her righteousness, crowned and veiled with the truth that has been spoken over her, and being escorted hand-in-hand by her Father.

This is what God has revealed for this new year. How wonderful it is! He has been drawing our hearts to His for a long time. And now His face will be revealed to us. As the chosen generation we are about to be lead into the promised land. This is God's promise to us.

"That's when God set apart the tribe of Levi to carry God's Covenant Chest, to be on duty in the Presence of God, to serve Him, and to bless in His name, as they continue to do today. And that's why the Levites don't have a piece of inherited land as their kinsmen do. God is their inheritance, as God, your God, promised them." -Deuteronomy 10:8-9

Get ready to be drowned in the glory and might of God's revival wave, to be pulled into the undertow of the Lord, Jesus Christ. This is 2011.
